Lara Stone and Liz Hurley are belles of Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball - but Alex Curran gets it all wrong in over-the-top black lace dress
Posted by org at 7:38 PMIt's one of the highlights of the showbiz calendar that gets the A-listers dolled up in their finest.
And model Lara Stone and actress Liz Hurley led the celebrity guest list at Sir Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball last night in simple but very glamorous gowns.
But despite her normal immaculate fashion sense, WAG Alex Curran got it all wrong in a short, low-cut black lace creation, which was hemmed with a peach chiffon train.
Glamorous couples: David Walliams and his new wife, model Lara Stone, and Liz Hurley and husband Arun Nayar get ready to party at Sir Elton John's annual White Tie and Tiara Ball
It also seemed a rather inappropriate choice of dress for a black tie event, although it would have guaranteed she stood out from the crowd - but probably for all the wrong reasons.
In contrast, Liz, 45, looked very elegant in her simple long white gown that had a daring split right up her right leg, as she and husband Arun Nayar were snapped leaving their London home to head to the party.
And Lara Stone, who arrived at the bash with new husband David Walliams, also kept it simple in her long slinky red dress which she accessorised with Chopard earrings.
Inappropriate: Steven Gerrard's wife Alex Curran leaves her London hotel for Sir Elton's Ball in a strange, low-cut, black lace dress not very suitable for a ball

Just like every year, Sir Elton John's bash was a star-studded event, with all his celebrity pals turning out en masse to enjoy the summer ball.
Held at his Windsor mansion, he co-hosted the night, which raised money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in Association with Chopard, with his partner David Furnish.
As there is every year, an auction is held and this year's highlight was an Audi A1 which was spin painted by artist Damien Hirst in his studio in Gloucestershire.
