So much is happening in the life of eight-year-old Purav Bhandar, the child actor of the just released film Tahaan, but he seems to be quite naïve about it all. He has been earning rave reviews for his acting. But ask him about his ambition in life and he is quick to respond that he wants to become a 'dentist', just like his parents. On second thoughts, Bhandar quips he will mange both.
The child actor in Santosh Sivan's Tahaan, apparently, is also oblivious to the fact that he has just bagged a big Hollywood project. He has been roped in by director Steve Barron, who has made hit flicks like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Arabian Nights, for his new project. One hears that Purav Bhandar will be playing the role of an Indian boy adopted by a Western couple who comes home to his roots in Bangalore.
