Cruiserweight contender Denis Lebedev, scored a knockout on Saturday scares over Roy Jones Jr. as the top fighter in the world.
With seconds to 10 th round of their bout in Moscow, Jones retreated to the ropes, where Lebedev landed some big punches before referee Steve Smoger stopped the fight too late.

Jones (54-8) rushed forward and was actually suspended in the air before falling face first.Pensacola, Fla., native was lying on the canvas for nearly two minutes before he could get on their feet.
As soon as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world for a year, since mid-1990, a 42-year-old Jones won five of his last 13 fights. He lost his light heavyweight title by a knockout one stroke in May 2004, collapsed in defeat in four months against Glen Johnson, and steamrolled into one tour in late 2009 against the Aussie Danny Green.

Although he was defeated, Jones will not guarantee retirement.
“I really do not know what I’m going to do now,” Jones said. ”I’ll think about it.”
Russian Lebedev (22-1) expects to get another title shot after losing a narrow decision to Germany’s Marco Huck.

“I’m so happy with this victory, we have invested so much in this fight,” said Lebedev. Jones was all we expected. Quick, strong, bold … but I survived. “
