Jane Russell died Monday at his home in Santa Maria, California, she was 89. Miss Russell, who later became her sexy image to comic effect in films with Bob Hope, Marilyn Monroe and other major stars, had respiratory problems and died after a short illness, his family said.
performance of provocation Miss Russell in "The Outlaw" - and the studio publicity shots of her posing in a low cut blouse, while leaning on a stack of hay bales - marked a turning point in moviedom sexuality. She became a bona fide star and a favorite pinup girl of soldiers during the Second World War. Korean troops besieged two hills named in his honor.
