The audio launch of Rakhi Sawant and Ishq Bector’s album ‘Jhagde’ was organised at Rock Bottom, Juhu. Comedian Johnny Lever had been the chief guest of the event, who released the CD along with Kaushal, Dhwani Gada, Nisha, Chetan Hansraj and Loungie. The event started with album’s video and live performance by Rakhi Sawant and Ishq Bector. The party was attended by Riyaz Gangji,Sunidhi Chauhan, Anaida, Adam Bedi, Mona Vasu, Meghna Naidu, Naved Jaffri, Ravi, Dr.Vachan Shetty, Alina, Rakesh Sawant, Shefanjali and others.

Rakhi sawant has done an ad for PETA which aims at ending the use of animals in circuses and has a bikini-clad Rakhi with body paint on. The bodypaint was done by Al Alva, and the ad was shot by Colston Julian.
“Animals in circuses are beaten and denied everything that is important to them for their whole lifetime – all for a few cheap tricks. My plea to parents is that if your kids love animals, the last place you should take them is the circus.”, says Rakhi Sawant.

It’s not a publicity stunt, she saysRakhi Sawant went overboard when she announced that she would find her life partner through a reality show "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar". But now the outspoken actor, renowned more for her voluptuous looks than acting skills, says she is not doing it to hog the limelight.
"This (show) is not a publicity stunt or an entertainment show. All I can say is I am honestly looking for a partner with whom I can spend my life and who will love me for what I am," Rakhi told IANS in an e-mail interview.
"Like most other celebrities, I have often been misinterpreted. The 'Swayamvar' will show the world the real me. Like any other girl even I have dreamt of a family, a loving husband and a caring mother-in-law. I have all the qualities of an ideal wife," she added.
"Rakhi Ka Swayamvar", which premiered on NDTV Imagine on Monday (, has 16 men wooing Rakhi at Udaipur's Fateh Garh Palace. They will be put through a series of challenges to test their personality, character, physical fitness, talent and also their compatibility with Rakhi.
All through the series, viewers can help Rakhi decide, by voting for or against the prospective grooms and the final week will present the wedding celebrations.
Rakhi, who has played bit roles in films like "Main Hoon Na" and done item numbers in films like "Krazzy 4" and "1920", says her mother was one among the thousands of people who were shocked with her decision about marrying this way.
"Initially my mother was also in a shock just like everyone else. But now, when I have explained it to her, she understands my side of the story better. This 'swayamvar' is not just about me getting married, it's about a girl's right to have an equal say in this big decision," she said.
In the first episode, all contestants tried to show their better side to the bride-to-be, but Rakhi, who was earlier dating small time actor Abhishek Awasthi, has her own set of parameters for her Mr. Right.
"Like any other girl I am expecting a suitable match for myself - I want my prince charming. Someone who would love me and take care of me and be with me in good and bad times. He should be someone who respects women, appreciates my talent and allows me to work even after marriage. I'm looking forward to be a part of a family that loves and cares for me," she said.
As of now, Rakhi is busy analysing the traits of each of the contestants while also trying hard to be at her demure best.
According to sources in the channel, the show will not run for over a month.
When asked about her prospective guest list for the D-day, Rakhi said: "We shall end up spending the whole evening if we start putting the guest list together. All I would say is that all my friends will be a part of the wedding."
To further promote "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar", the channel has introduced a special online game, in which a man (the player) is supposed to either catch Rakhi's kisses or be a victim of shoes.

The Rani Mukherjee-Rakhi Sawant connection began with the movie Saawariya. The resemblance between Rani Mukherjee’s character in the movie and Rakhi Sawant was quite obvious to all. Now, Rani is all set to perform an item number in her upcoming flick Dil Bole Hadippa! with none other than the original item girl of Bollywood – Rakhi Sawant.
The song is a Punjabi track composed by Pritam and is called ‘Bhangra Bistar’. It has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Alisha Chinai, the lucky mascots for Yash Raj Films who gave the hits ‘Kajrare’ in Bunty Aur Babli and ‘Dhoom Machale’ in Dhoom.As stated by a source, “As Rani is dressed like a man for the major part of the film, the idea was to get Rani to do that one sizzling feminine number to balance the gender bender. Just like Saira Banu did a ‘Thoda sa thehro’ in Victoria No. 203 where she was dressed as man, Rani has ‘Bhangra bistar’ in Dil Bole Hadippa!”
The dusky beauty Rani is concentrating on shaping herself up before they begin to rehearse for the song. She is viewing the dance with the hot Rakhi as a challenge. The movie is slated to release in September 2009.

She is known for her shock value and Rakhi Sawant is now planning her 'swayamvara' - picking a groom and tying the nuptial knot with the chosen one - on a reality TV show.Rakhi will choose from among 15 grooms on NDTV Imagine's new show "Rakhi Ka Swayamvara" and and will take the help of viewers to decide on her perfect man. The timing of the show hasn't been announced yet.
The first of its kind show will trace Rakhi's journey from selecting a groom to the marriage ceremony.
Commenting on her decision to marry this way, Rakhi said: "I want to solemnise my marriage in the presence of all my fans who have been supportive of me throughout and what better way than getting married on national television?"
"I am looking for a companion who is warm, affectionate, someone who can dance a little bit, who respects women for who they are, and above all who is punctual. Even Sita had her Swayamvara so why not me?"
Rakhi says this is the right time for her to settle down.
"Every young woman dreams of a perfect marriage. There is a right time in your life to get married to become a wife and a mother. I'm a cultured Indian woman with good values and I have reached a stage where I need a companion with whom I can share my love, joys, sorrows and success. For me that time is now," she said.
Rakhi has mostly hit headlines for her outspoken ways. Though she has played bit roles in films like "Main Hoon Na" and done item songs in films like "Krazzy 4" and "1920", she is best remembered for the controversy involving Punjabi singer Mika when she accused him of kissing her forcibly after she had pecked on his cheeks on his birthday.
She was also seen on reality show "Bigg Boss" where, again, she was in the spotlight for all the wrong things. On the same show, she had declared she was dating dancer-actor Abhishek Awasthi. But they split towards the end of 2008.
Over the duration of the show, the prospective grooms will be brought together under one roof and put through a series of challenges that will test their personality, character, physical fitness, talent and also their compatibility with Rakhi.
All through the series, viewers can help Rakhi decide, by voting for or against the prospective grooms and the final week will present the wedding celebrations.
The show is being produced by SOL Productions Private Limited.

A bitter and tearful Rakhi Sawant opened her heart and bared her soul to Sam Kumar Shukla about her relationship with Abhishek Awasthi and the recent break up. In between angry and indignant sobs, she expressed the pain that she was going through. She even prayed that God may teach him a lesson. But she didn’t seek revenge. Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned, they say. But Rakhi has left revenge to her God.
While blaming Abhishek for causing her so much pain, she also spoke well about the alleged new woman in his life – the gorgeous, sexy and glamourous Shradha Sharma. She empathized with Shradha and wished her well. She called her “hot, sexy, ambitious and smart” – not many women would speak well about their ex’s new girl friend. But Rakhi Sawant is Rakhi Sawant and Bollywood will never have another Rakhi Sawant.
Was the sorrow and concern genuine or the expert manifestation and manipulation of the Drama Queen that she is known to be. Only time will tell.
Tell us about your Yash Raj movie? What is the kind of role that you play?
I am really sorry, but my contract forbids me from speaking anything at all about the movie. They have given me a water-tight contract; I can’t breathe a word about it. But I was busy shooting for the last two months for the movie. I shot for almost 40-45 days. I have a substantial role in the movie with Shahid and Rani.
Your bete noire Sherlyn Chopra is also in the film?
I think she is doing an item song in that film. I am not sure. I also heard that she has been dropped. I am not sure at all. You must ask Yash Raj about it. I am not her spokesperson or PRO.
I am doing Yeh hein Jalwa. The first one I won, this is the second season. I am busy shooting for that. I am doing that show with Mika.
Since you are shooting with Mika you must have a lot of bodyguards around you?
Yes we both have bodyguards. He has five and I have ten. Because each of his bodyguards equals two of mine in size.
Tell us something about your break up with Abhishek?
Yes I have broken off with him. I am now single. And I think I am better off being single.
So do you have a new man in your life?
No, No, I don’t want any man in my life unless of course he is ready to marry me. In case I have any one in my life, the first thing I am going to do is ask him if he is ready to marry me immediately. I don’t want to have any more relationships unless it’s for ever and ends in marriage.
And do you know anything about Abhishek’s new girl friend?
I do not know much, but I read somewhere that he is having an affair with Shradha Sharma. I knew that they were good friends. Both of them were part of Mika’s dance group. In fact they were even together in Delhi when Shradha was a side dancer. I am surprised that Abhishek is seeing her because I know she cannot be serious about him.
What do you mean?
Shradha is a sexy, good-looking girl and Abhishek is not her type. She will use Abhishek and then dump him in the same fashion that Abhishek dumped me. In fact, I wish him all the best if he is dating Shradha. He will get tit-for-tat. He will get from Shradha what he did to me. He ditched me. When I asked him for marriage, he refused to marry me.
But why are you insisting on marriage with Abhishek? You could have been together for some more time, maybe a few more years?
Well, we have been together for almost four years now and I felt it was time to get married. I wanted to get serious with him. But he was not willing to marry me.
Firstly, I am not sure if there is any relationship at all. Shradha is a very ambitious girl. She is also good looking and hot. I don’t think even if they are having an affair it will last very long. Abhishek will be dumped by her very soon. I am surprised to know that they are having an affair. Because I know that Shradha was earlier dating a television actor from the Ekta Kapoor stable. She had a long relationship with him.
Why do you think your relationship with Abhishek didn’t work out?
I gave Abhishek my mind, body, soul, money, contacts everything. I bought him a bike as a gift. Helped him financially whenever he needed help. Went out of my way to help him get work and publicity. He would answer all my calls. My personal phone and all my financial details were with him. Yes he was initially very devoted to me, but now he has completely changed. Money and fame have changed him. He was nobody when he came to me. No one knew him. Had you heard his name then? Today every journalist knows Abhishek because of me. Today I have had to block my personal phone number which I was using for the last five years. I don’t want him answering my calls anymore.
So are you gunning for revenge?
No. I will not do anything. But I pray that God will teach him a lesson. For me, my revenge will be taken by my God. I hope that Shradha uses him and dumps him. In fact, I will advise her to use him and then dump him. He deserves that. He deserves to be taught a good lesson.
But Shradha’s Media Manager Flynn Remedios has denied that there is any relationship. He also issued a press statement. What is the truth?
I do not know about that. But even on 14th Feb, Valentine’s Day, I think Abhishek was meeting some other woman. Knowing Shradha, I don’t think she will fall for Abhishek, but even if there is something going on between them, I pray that Abhishek gets tit-for-tat.

This week has been really tough on Shilpa.
First Jade Goodie's traumatic adieu. Then a member of her own film fraternity Rakhi Sawant was heard telling tv channels that a contestant on Big Boss must have been changed because of Shilpa.
When questioned about Rakhi's allegation Shilpa says she's appalled. "I don't even want to talk about her. But I was very hurt. I really like Rakhi. Why was she talking this way about me without knowing the facts?
How does she know the facts about how contestants were chosen? I don't think it's right for anyone to shoot off her mouth in this way.
You may have an outspoken image that you're always eager to uphold. But please don't flaunt that image at my cost."
Shilpa was also appalled by her effigies being burnt. Apparently a guy Ramdas Atahavle was approached to go into the house. He claims he was dropped because of Shilpa's manoeuvres.
The actress doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at this. "It's the channel's prerogative to select or reject a candidate. Until two days prior to the show I didn't even know who was going.
The format doesn't allow the host to know the contestants. Mr Athavle claims he was dropped on discriminatory grounds because he was a Dalit and Sanjay Nirupam was taken instead."
Shilpa is outraged. "Why was I being blamed if a candidate didn't make it into Big Boss? Why were they throwing stones at the channel Colors' office and burning my effigy?
They even held a dharna in Lonavla in front of the Big Boss house. Why me? Every time I'm associated with something people try to use my name for their own purposes. Please leave me alone."
Taking a deep breath Shilpa laughs. "I think I should take all this attention as a compliment. But somewhere it does take its toll on my mental equilibrium. We all need to be more responsible about our duties as a citizen.
My phone went ballistic on Tuesday. I'm in the midst of a dozen things and then to be badgered like this! I'm human and I don't like my name being constantly used. Don't hit where it hurts the most. I think they should start auctioning my effigies."
Laughs Shilpa, "But really, Rakhi Sawant takes the cake. What authority does she have to make such charges against me?
I'd have Rakhi know that it's the channel's prerogative to decide the participants. I'm hired by the channel to do a job. My jurisdiction is to go on stage and host the show."
Shilpa wants police action against the practice of burning effigies. "It's really very sad that known people are subjected to this. It's very degrading?"
