Vidya Balan who never smokes had to endorse a scene in which she had to really smoke for a scene in her forthcoming film Dirty Picture. The actress had to smoke up to 10 cigarettes for a scene while shooting for the film in Hyderabad. She starts to feel anxious after her 4th cigarette and underway coughing. This closed down shoot of the film for some minutes.

Mohan Babu's daughter Laxmi Manchu to make Bollywood debut with Department

Veteran Telugu superstar Mohan Babu's daughter Lakshmi Manchu is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Varma's Department. She will be paired opposite Sanjay Dutt.
Lakshmi Manchu is not new to the world of showbiz, she is well known for her talk shows like 'Lakshmi Talk Show' and 'Prematho Mee Lakshmi'. She received a lot of appreciation for her negative performance in her debut Telugu film Anaganaga O Dheerudu. She has also acted in the American Television series Las Vegas and Desperate Housewives.
Lakshmi has earlier acted in RGV's low budget Telugu flick Dongala Mutha. Impressed with Lakshmi's acting skills RGV decided to cast her in Department. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan as a gangster-turned-politician and Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubati as encounter specialists.
Lakshmi expressed her excitement on signing Department, on Twitter. "Signed a Bollywood film. Superrrr thrilled! Details soon. Thanq for all your love. Dreams do come true," she tweeted.
Lakshmi is currently producing a socio-fantasy Oo Kodathara Ulikki Padathara with her brother Manoj in the lead role.

Television actress Ekta Tiwari was saved by her friend and neighbours, who came to her rescue on hearing her cries for help Television actress Ekta Tiwari, best known for her lead role in Tere Mere Sapne, has filed a complaint of attempted rape against her former driver, accusing him of molesting, assaulting and threatening her in her Bhayander flat on Thursday night. According to the Navghar police, Tiwari stays alone at her Naya Nagar flat in Bhayandar and had employed Mira Road resident Sajid Sayyed (26) as her driver three months ago.She fired him a fortnight back, following which he started sending her lewd SMSes and began stalking her.”I required a driver and an acquaintance introduced me to Sayyed. I used to talk to him but never discussed anything personal. However, he must have misunderstood me and thought that I was attracted to him. Sayyed began falling in love with me and started acting weird. I was not comfortable with his behaviour and fired him 15 days ago. This must have hurt his ego,” said Tiwari.Tiwari had warned Sayyed to back off, but he wanted to have an affair with her. On Thursday, Tiwari was at home when Sayyed came to her building. He kept a watch the entire day and, noticing that she was alone, began shouting her name. Scared, Tiwari asked Sayyed to go, but he barged into her house instead and tried to rape her. Rape attempt “On Thursday, Sayyed barged into my house and grabbed my hand. I warned him to go away but he began kissing me violently. He dragged me to the bedroom and tore my clothes. I ran to the window and shouted, but he grabbed me and pushed me against the wall. I got hold of my mobile phone and dialled the number of one of my friends but Sayyed snatched the phone, dropped it on the floor and pushed me on the bed,” she said. “He was trying to rape me, but my friend and neighbours came there and saved me. They tried to nab Sayyed but he fled, threatening to kill me and them,” said Tiwari. “We are on the look out for Sayyed. He fled the scene when Tiwari’s neighbours heard her cries for help and came to her rescue,” said API M Shivadkar from the Navghar police station, where Tiwari filed the complaint yesterday.

“BLOOD MONEY is the title for our Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri film which is directed by a brilliant new director Vishal Mahadkar,” Bhatt tweeted Monday. As a term, blood money means a monetary compensation paid by an offender to the family of a murder victim. Whether Bhatt’s movie is central to this term, is not known yet. The movie was earlier tentatively titled “Jannat 2″. But the filmmaker decided otherwise. “Listening to you folks has made me decide not to call my new film ‘Jannat 2′. Thank you! The breach was not just limited to the official site, in fact any other page be it a fan based page or any that related to Ra.One was similarly hacked. Apparently, the said breach was the handy work of certain Pakistani cyber criminals who stated that they were seeking revenge for a similar cyber attack on the Karachi Press Club website.
The other site that was hacked www.raonemovie.com was defaced with a note saying, "SeeKer was here!!! A news has reched to me that s0me of indian Lamers hack Pak press club. Listen u script Kiddies . Stop hacking Paki sites or u will darely pay..."
The said breach in the internet security was apparently due to the poor programming and servers that run unpatched versions of the operating system, despite this until late evening there was no police complaint filed regarding the attack.

Salman Khan on the set of Mountain Dew AD
Salman Khan indulges in daredevilry for soft drink ad.
It is touted to be Salman Khan's new actioner after Dabangg. The star has indulged in the daredevil adventure sport of wing suit flying in a commercial of his new endorsement for a soft drink.
The ad was recently shot at a remote location in the mountainous terrains of New Zealand. It was filmed by an international crew helmed by action-adventure film maker Bob Gordon. Sallu has done the stunts himself.
Says a unit source, "The only way to reach the shooting locale was by a helicopter. There were five of them on the sets that feature in the ad as well."
The makers claim that it is the actor's biggest ad production keeping in mind the ad's Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai campaign.
Adds the source, "The film has been mounted on a mega scale and the production budget exceeded over a million dollars."
The ad goes on air from February 25.
The rumours that suggested Amrita Rao was dating Shahid Kapoor can safely be put to rest.
Yes, Shahid has had Priyanka Chopra as his ladylove for quite long now but here's the other side of the story. Amrita has been in a long-distance relationship with an NRI from San Francisco.
Our source said, "Amrita was once in the news for being artist MF Hussain's muse. Later, Bollywood was always abuzz with rumours about Amrita dating different men but most of the rumours fell flat after a point of time.
But this time she seems to have finally found love. Amrita has been dating a certain Neil Kulkarni, an NRI orthopaedic surgeon based out of San Francisco."
In August, last year, the actress was in the midst of her Rajshri Production shoot for Love You Mr Kalakar in San Francisco.
She also participated in promoting a charity event there, during which she apparently met Neil.
They say, Amrita's aunt introduced the two and also told her that he would be the perfect guy for her. Kulkarni works for one of the top hospitals there. According to sources, he too was quite smitten by Amrita.
The source added, "Amrita has tried hard to keep her personal life under wraps. Though it is a long-distance relationship, both Amrita and Neil are trying their level best to keep the romance alive.

When contacted, Amrita Rao did not revert but her publicist said, "Career is all that's on Amrita's mind and she has no time for love.
Though unwillingly, Ranveer Singh has let the cat out of the bag. His acting skills were lauded extensively in Band Baaja Baraat but Ranveer proved to be quite an amateur at improvisation.
While shooting an episode with Anushka Sharma on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan, Ranveer accidentally referred to Rani Mukerji as "MD" of Yash Raj Films while not taking her name.
Ranveer has a three-film contract with Yash Raj Films and happens to be Aditya Chopra's blue-eyed boy. Our source said, "The conversation on the show was between KJo and Anushka Sharma and Karan asked Anushka if she thought she could act better than all other actresses in the industry.
Anushka said, 'Yes, barring one.' Before she could say who, Ranveer, who had been silent, blurted out the question, 'MD?' and before anyone else, KJo said, 'Oh, let's not go that path'."
According to industry sources Rani is believed to be the one calling the shots at YRF. And if this rumour were anything to go by, Ranveer accidentally affirmed it.
Though Anushka spoke soon enough and said that she was referring to Kareena Kapoor, the damage was done.
The source added, "It is known that ever since Rani has been dating Adi, the head honcho of YRF Films, she is one of the most feared people in Yash Raj Studios.
She is believed to be one of the key decision makers in the YRF camp. Ranveer might have referred to Rani, hoping Anushka would name her and in turn impress Adi."
Whilst a lot may be lost in translation we would still give Ranveer benefit of the doubt and ask: were you referring to Madhuri Dixit by any chance.

With a strong presence that her character boasts right through this film which is now ready for theatrical release in India after making the rounds of the festival circuits, one wonders if Monica ever realised the enormity of the platform when she actually began to shoot for DHOBI GHAT.
"Not really actually", Monica says in a cautions tone, "You know what, my situation in case of DHOBI GHAT was quite curious actually. I have been extremely interested in music and played with 'Shaa'ir + Func' for four years now. In many ways I am very happy with my career in music. It is art that excites me, whether it is music or acting. As long as I can get a special change in the world regardless of the capacity that I can contribute, it would be worth it."
But didn't she miss her team from 'Shaa'ir + Func' while shooting for the film? After all from being a live performer, she was suddenly getting into a more rehearsed environment?
"As I stated earlier, it is all about the different formats of art that you are a part of at any given point in time", says Monica who has cut a few albums via her band in the past, "I have always been an actor; it's just the platform that differs. It's eventually about changing people's minds and pushing things forward. I have always aspired to do great things and working really hard since I was very-very young. With my first feature film now, I have happily surprised myself. More than just being an actor in the film, I am glad that a film like this has been made."

In a complaint, on Wednesday, to the state tobacco control cell and the union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) general secretary Shekhar Salkar said that Devgn, who was fined once for smoking in public in Chandigarh, deserved more stringent action as he was becoming a habitual offender of the 'no smoking in public' rule.
"This being the second violation by Ajay Devgn, we feel that the punishment given to such type of habitual law breakers is too meagre. In view of this, we strongly feel that the penalty under section 4 of the COPTA (Control of Tobacco Products Act) law for both one who violates the law and one who allows violating the law should be increased," Salkar said.
A local newspaper flashed photographs of Devgn smoking on the sets of Golmaal 3 on Tuesday with the film's director Rohit Shetty standing an arm's length away.
The general secretary of NOTE, which has in the past dragged Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to court for directly or indirectly promoting smoking, has also said that habitual violators of the COPTA law should be jailed.
"Fine for the first offence should be Rs.500, for the second it should be raised to Rs.5,000 and for the third offence an imprisonment for a period of six months, in addition to a fine of Rs.5,000 should be imposed," Salkar said.
Devgn is the third Bollywood actor to be caught smoking in Goa this month.
Earlier this month, actors Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi were hauled up by NOTE for smoking during a film shoot in Margao, 35 kms from Panaji, Goa.

Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, says he opted out of director Mani Ratnam’s Tamil version of Raavan, where he was originally slated to play the role of Dev, due to language problems.
"When Mani decided to make Raavan it was only in Hindi. The idea of Tamil version came in later. He told me to swap roles from Beera in Hindi to Dev in Tamil. Even though I agreed initially, I realised that I would not be able to do justice to the role since I am not comfortable with the language," said Abhishek.
"I told Mani that I did not want to do a film in a language which I did not understand. It is important for an actor know the language… Aishwarya is in both the versions because she knows it," he said.
"Even though Mani was adamant, I managed to convince him that I would not be able to do the best job," the actor said.
Moreover, I had my hands full with ’Beera’ which was a tough character to play, the actor said.
Southern actor Prithviraj now plays Dev’s character in the Tamil version and superstar Vikram essays Raavan.
Abhishek clarified that Raavan had no connection with the mythological epic ’Ramayan’.
"It would be futile to unnecessarily draw parallels because the only connection is the name Raavan. It is an apt title for the film because of the different shades of Beera’s personality," he said.
"In fact, Beera’s pet name is ’Raavan’. He has a small sister who calls him by that name," the actor revealed.
He said when he told Mani that comparisons to Ramayan would be inevitable due to the film’s title, the director asked him to name one film in India which does not have an influence of epics and mythological stories.
"Also, it is a contemporary film with no reference to naxalism or any naxal leader," he added.

The actress will be seen playing the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter in her next upcoming movie, Aarakshan. This movie will be directed by the same director of Rajneeti, Prakash Jha.
The director says that this movie is all about job reservations of the backward classes. And it will speak a lot about the difficulties people face to find a decent job in the country.
With Katrina who prepared herself with mavericks related to dynastic politics for her film Rajneeti, she is already looking into information related to job reservations in the country for this new film too.
The entire movie will be set on a college background with students wandering about to find a suitable job. And Amitabh Bachchan will be playing.
The role of the college principal whose character is entirely inspired from his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
The movie will have Ajay Devagan in the male lead role. Ajay will play the role of being the principal’s favourite student who belongs to a backward class and supports reservation. Ajay is casted along with Big B in two projects this year. One being this movie and the other is an untitled movie by Rajkumar Santoshi.

Deepika Padukone debuted with SRK starrer ‘Om Shanti Om’ which was in a sort of proxy war with Salman Khan’s ‘Saawariya’ at the time of its release. As such, there was not much interaction between Sallu Bhai and Deepika. However, time and again, it was said that both the actors had expressed their desire to work with each other.
