DJIA Down 331 ...:NEW YORK (Dow Jones) - U.S. stocks fell sharply and gold rose in volatile trade on Monday morning, as investors fled risky assets in the first activity since Standard & Poor's downgraded the government's credit rating late Friday.
The Exchange has today a clothes dryer, with the Dow falling more than 500 points. The jobs outlook is bleak.

Balloon Juice » The Dow Comes Tumbling Down :The United States is not in default, but the stock market is tumbling anyway.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 265 points Tuesday as mounting concerns about the fragility of the U.S. economy weighed heavily on Wall Street. It was the Dow eighth straight daily loss, the worst string, since the depths of the global financial crisis in 2008.
