Katrina and Ranbir to split due to this girl? The Kapoor boy's bonding with co-star Nargis Fakhri, is causing trouble between the pair

Ranbir Kapoor is moving to newer pastures. The actor is currently fascinated by his Rockstar co-star Nargis Fakhri.

While his blow hot -blow cold status with Katrina Kaif continues, Ranbir seems to be cementing his relationship with Nargis.

Sources reveal that Kapoor has already told close friends that he 'likes' Nargis and wants to give their developing relationship a chance.

Yeh dooriyan...

While Nargis is getting to know him better, Kat is slowly and steadily distancing herself from RK. In the last two months, Ranbir -Katrina have had many arguments and fights due to his growing proximity with the newcomer.

A source reveals, "Kat feels that Ranbir isn't coming clean about his relation with Nargis. While he maintains they are working co-stars, she can sense there's more.

The growing tension between the two got public when the Kapoor lad was heard screaming into the phone on the Rockstar set with Kat at the other end of the line.

Sajan re jhooth...

The fight started when Katrina was informed that the Kapoor lad had gone to drop Nargis at her friend's place, while he had told her that he was busy at an ad shoot.

"Ranbir doesn't want to commit to his co-star yet, but he's admitted to some close friends that there is a possibility of him getting serious.

Apart from spending time with her, he's also been recommending her to producers."

Mera jawab

Kaif feels that RK shuts himself off after a fight and doesn't communicate. While she believes in resolving a conflict, he chooses to ignore it and move on.

Buzz is that the actor plans to take the new gal in his life to his sister Riddhima's house during the New Year's where the entire family will be celebrating. Is this his answer to Kat heading to Dubai to ring in the New Year?

Sammir excitedly said, “I’ve known Ritika for a long time now and we decided it’s the right time to get engaged. The wedding will happen sometime next year.”

His fiance is an aspiring writer with a corporate background. As far as his own career is concerned, Sammir claims to be busy with a Kannada film down South.

Anti-Whaling Conservationists
Although I suspect the anti-whalers of  The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society are liberals, I still enjoy the television series "Whale Wars." The Conservation Society operates a couple of ships that track the Japanese whaling fleet in the Antarctic, attempting to interfere with the whaling ships and prevent the killing of whales.  They do this by blasting the Japanese ships with a water cannon (and suffering return fire from the Japanese), by befouling the whaling ships' props with tow lines, by inserting speed boats between the whalers and the whales, and by throwing Butyric acid missiles at the whaling ships.

Butyric acid is found in rancid butter and stinks to high heaven.  Lately the conservationists have been throwing it at the "slide" on the processing mother ship, the ramp where the dead whales are hoisted on board.  They hope to make the dead whales stink like rotten butter, making them less commercially marketable.

I must admit it, I always root for the conservationists.  I love animals, and whales are magnificent beasts.  Yes, I know it, I'm a flaming hypocrite:  I eat beef.  I eat fish.  I eat poultry.  I eat pork.  However, if I had to kill everything I eat, I'd become a vegetarian.  I'd be up to my neck in chickens, cows and pigs, all of them with cutesy names and probably fitted with knitted sweaters.  If I owned a whale, I'd name him Joe.  Why?  Why not?

Japanese Sushi Recipe Research Ship
The conservationists object to Japan's annual whaling quest, wherein the Japanese generally kill around 1,000 whales.  Whaling is now prohibited by international treaties, but Japan gets by with a loophole that allows them to kill whales "for research purposes."  Their big processing ship has RESEARCH painted on the hull in big, broad letters.  Any whale meat that isn't used for research can then be sold as a delicacy in Japanese food markets.  How conveeeeenient!

Research?  Yeah, sure.  The only "research" the Japanese whalers are involved in is new recipes for sushi.

Go conservationists!

New Year's Day always seems cold, bleak and depressing.  It's the day after the night before, i.e. the day of hangovers and stomach aches and reckoning.  All the Christmas lights and tinsel, which seemed so cheery just a week ago, now seem gaudy reminders of too much food and drink.  Suddenly, Scrooge's holiday opinions no longer seem so harsh, just honest.

It's a cold, blustery and rainy day here in Hollister.  Missy, my young cat, sits on the edge of my desk, staring at the raindrops that roll down the window pane, entranced by the howling wind.

January 1st:  a good day for bundling up, staying warm, drinking hot coffee or tea, and finding something good to watch on television.  This is not a day for any serious work.  We'll begin all that rot again on Monday.
