The City Health Office (CHO) and the City Nutrition Committee will jointly conduct a search for the model Breastfeeding Mother on Thursday, in observance of Nutrition Month.
The search will highlight the opening program for the Nutrition Month celebration with the theme “Isulong ang Breastfeeding – Tama, Sapat at Eksklusibo.”
While the program dubbed “Nutri-Walk” will start at 3 p.m. at the Paseo del Mar.
The observance will kick off with a colorful parade from the Zamboanga Central School towards Mayor Climaco Avenue, and culminate at the Paseo del Mar, where the program and search will be conducted.
Nutri-Walk is the city’s first event among the series of nutrition-related activities slated in observance of Nutrition Month.
Another highlight of the said program will be the launching of the Vita Nutrient Mix by the World Food Organization.
Vita Nutrient Mix is a micronutrient powder with 15 vitamins and minerals intended for children from six months to two years old.
The powder can be mixed with the food or milk of children belonging to the age category to ensure the absorption of the essential nutrients and will be distributed for free next month through the various health centers in the city.
